Murphy is a 400 pound professor who invents a drug for weight losss.
Review: The Nutty Professor is lighthearted fun. It is by no means original, as it recounts the Jerry Lewis version of 1963. I have always enjoyed watching Eddie Murphy, especially when he is the actor behind 5 of the 6 characters on the screen. The morphing involved in changing Murphy from slim to fat or vice versa is pretty cute, but nothing special. All in all, there is no need to rush out and see this movie but some night when you want to rent a movie and curl up in bed with a bag of popcorn you'll probably enjoy this movie.
