Mars Attacks

Stars:
Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny Devito
and more.
Rated:
PG-13
Plot:
Satirical sci-fi about a Martian attack.
My Rating: #
2 and 1/2 Stars. Entertaining, sporadically funny.
Review:
This movie is entertaining more because of its actors than because of its
plot. Nicholson plays his usual role with his usual brilliance. So does
Devito. The rest of the cast is similarly impressive. Mars Attacks
wasn't nearly as funny as I expected, so it barely held its own as a 2 and
1/2 star movie. I wouldn't rush out to se it.

Thinks I Was Too Forgiving Toward This
Movie
Nate's Rating: #
1/2 Stars. It's about as entertaining as watching my laundry go through
its various cycles.
Review: In my expert opinion, Tim Burton should be forced
to watch his movie in a
continuous
loop while being force-fed Mott's cinnamon flavored applesauce with a
giant cerrated
spoon. This is diatribal code for: this film sucks! Noah, I think you were
far too
kind in your
review of Mars Attacks, a frivolous and excruciating spoof of 1950's
Science fiction
horror films.
I agree that Jack Nicholas was great as the Pres and Tom Jones was in top
form in his
Vegas Lounge act scene,
however, the movie had no redeeming plot, wasn't particularly funny or
clever, and on
top of that, I thought
the martians were to grotesque and cartoon-like to even watch. Besides,
the way they
killed the martians was ripped off
from Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, which at least was a watchable cult
classic. In
short, I left the theater dizzy, sweaty, and unfulfilled!
I could have stayed home and had the same effect. Again, you have clearly
missed the
boat on the review of this movie.
