Review: I don't know where to start. This was an unbelievable movie. A solid, well thought out plot is brilliantly rendered by three main characters. Sean Penn, who I usually describe as a spotty actor captured his role brilliantly. I expect him, as well as his wife to be up for academy awards for their work in this movie. The plot was solid and enthralling. Despite the serious nature of the movie there were many absolutely hilarious scenes in this movie, which in no way detracted from the seriousness of the movie. This is a movie you can sit an analyze over and over. During the movie, I found myself nearing tears more because of my emotional confusion than for actual sadness. When the movie ended, I was in a state of shell-shock that made it difficult for me to get up (did you know that at the end of the closing credits to a movie they show the motion picture rating - wouldn't it be more appropriate to have that shown at the beginning of the movie). This movie had all the tools needed to earn it four stars and the distinction of being one of my all time favorites.
