Stars:
Bruce Willis, Lily Tomlin and Spencer Breslin
Review:
Willis does a fine job of his own, but perhaps the highest credit to Willis is that he once again is involved in a movie with a great performance by a child star (see The Sixth Sense). Breslin is fun and forceful. The character he plays really is the life of the movie.
There are a couple of problems in plot development here. They're not enough to keep this movie from an overall positive rating, but they are worth mentioning. First, the "solution" phase of this movie is quite short. Far more time is spent concentrating on the general predicament that Breslin's character is in, rather than working than working more toward fixing the problem. It gives the movie a little bit of a television drama feel, rather than a movie feel. Second, there is a possibility that this movie might be taken by children as encouraging violence, and that winning a fight could be the solution to their problems. Although this turns out not to be the case (which is why I mention it so explicitly in the review, I don't think I'm spoiling anything), parents should be careful to address this issue with their children. Finally, the last scenes of the movie were a bit overdone, not leaving enough to the imagination.
All in all, this movie is a good family outing.

Rated: PG
Plot: Bruce Willis and his younger self meet, and each has an opportunity to change himslef(s?).
My Rating:
2 1/2 stars. Not a perfect movie, but certainly fun.
This is a fun movie for an adult and a child. Bruce Willis plays a successful but tough business man who is struggling toward his fortieth birthday. Through a stroke of luck (magic?) he meets his younger self (Spencer Breslin). As Breslin and Willis try to get Breslin back to his time, Willis helps Breslin get a view into his own future, and Breslin helps Willis remember his past. It's a fairly interesting story about a person's self forgotten.
